William J Adami, age 56, of New Castle, DE went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan 28, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bill has been with Easter Seals Delaware & Maryland's Eastern Shore, Inc for more that 20 years in a variety of leadership roles. In March 2008, Bill became the President/CEO. His 30 plus year career in disabiltiy services was driven by his passion that people with disabilities should have opportunities to be engaged in their community.
Bill centered each day of his life around his loving wife and his family. He adored his wife Ann and his family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Bill was a great cook, enjoyed reading, and cheering on all New England sports teams.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Anne D Adami, son, Andrew G Adami, daughters, Lindsay A. Adami and Katherine M Adami, his mother, Frances T Adami, sister, Ellen A Fortin and husband Stephen, and a hosts of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and in-laws; James F Dunn and wife Susan, Veronica Doherty and his band Michael, Susan Tamul and husband Edward, Mary a Dunn, Joseph Dunn and wife Carmen. Michael A. O'Brian, Sr. passed away surrounded by family after a brief illness on Tuesday, June 17. Mike was born on July 2, 1932, in Montgomery, Indiana to the late Anastasia and Ottis O'Brian. He was self-employed and proud to be a business owner for 50 years - first as Kitchen Kountertops and then as Michael O'Brian & Sons. He developed intricate machinery for the production of cabinets and countertops.
Mike had a great sense of humor and lived life to the fullest - traveling the world. He served his country in the Air Force. His hobbies were flying single-engine planes, enjoying Nascar, fishing, and playing cards. He will be deeply missed.
Mike was predeceased by his parents and sisters, Catherine Michaels and Margaret O'Brian; his sons, Patrick and Joseph; and his canine companion "Lady."
He is survived by his wife, Regina "Jean" O'Brian; his son, Michael A. O'Brian, Jr. and his wife, Maryanne; his daughter, Mary Ann O'Brian and her companion, Mark Gazdzinski; his son, Stephen O'Brian and his companion, Teresa; his daughter, Karen and Greg Hudson; his daughter, Susan Reshetar and her husband, Dave; his son, Tom O'Brian; and his daughter-in-law, Donna. Thomas D. O'Brian died suddenly on Monday, June 8, 2015 at his home in Newark.
Tom was a carpenter by trade and worked for his father's business, Michael O'Brian and Sons in Newport. Tom was an avid fisherman, loved NASCAR racing, was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and enjoyed an occasional round of golf. He was a fun loving person and enjoyed cooking for friends and family. His kindness and good nature will be dearly missed.
Tom was predeceased by his brothers, Patrick in 2000 and Joseph in 2006; and his father, Michael in 2014. He is survived by his two daughters, Brittany and Paige; his mother, Regina "Jean" O'Brian; his brother, Michael O'Brian Jr. and wife, Maryanne; his sister, Mary Ann and her companion, Mark Gazdzinski; his brother, Stephen and his companion, Theresa; his sister, Karen and Greg Hudson; his sister, Susan Reshetar and husband, Dave; and his sister-in-law, Donna O'Brian. Christopher J. O'Brien, age 48, of Middletown, DE passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at home, surrounded by his family and friends after courageously struggling with brain cancer.
Born in Rahway, NJ, Chris grew up in Colonia, NJ and graduated from Colonia High. He was a varsity high school athlete in football and basketball. He went on to graduate from Roanoke College in 1987. He had an eighteen-year career as a State Farm Insurance Agent, which he thoroughly enjoyed and found very rewarding.
Chris was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed golf, hunting and fishing, and camping. He loved traveling with family and friends especially seasonal float trips with the ODFS. He was a committed coach for all his children's local teams. He was an active member of St. Joseph's Parish in Middletown serving as chairman of the finance council and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was well known for his thoughtfulness and generosity. Chris was a devoted husband, loving father, dedicated son and brother. He was also the fun uncle to all his nieces and nephews and known for his great storytelling.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Karen, his three beautiful children, Sarah, Brendan and Colin as well as his loyal lab, Abby. He is also survived by his parents, James and Geraldine O'Brien of Brick, NJ, along with his seven siblings, Jim and Karen, Wilton, CT, Jeffrey and Kate, Freehold, NJ, Nancy and James Habick, Bethlehem, PA, Mark and Sue, Norfolk, MA, David and Bonnie, Glenmore, PA, Glenn and Cheryl, Brick, NJ and Sharon and Joseph Lisnock, Flowering Branch, GA. Irene L. O'Brien, 88 passed away peacefully on December 30, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.
Irene was born in Bronx, NY, the daughter of the late Alice (Carroll) and Edward Friedle. She was predeceased by her brother, Walter Friedle and her sister, Alice Bryne.
Irene was an active member of St. John the Beloved Church. She served as a Eucharistic Minister, both in church and at Christiana Hospital. Irene loved to sing and was a member of the adult choir at St. John's and she was a lector at many masses.
Irene will be dearly missed by her husband of over 64 years, John J. O'Brien; her children and their spouses, Kathleen and Timothy O'Donnell of Newark, Kevin and Kathy O'Brien of Marlton, NJ and Gerard and Holly O'Brien of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren, Brendan, Sean, Daniel, Colin, Erin, Corinne, Colman and Celeste and her great grandson, Evan.

Very Rev John F O'Brien, Age 66, a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington, died on Tuesday, January 7, 2003, while on vacation at the Jersey Shore.
Father O'Brien was born November 15, 1936 in the Bronx NY, son of the late John J and Mary (O'Shea) O'Brien. He received his early education at St Luke's School and the Bronx and Rice High School in Manhattan NY. He attended college at St John's University in Long Island NY and studied for the priesthood at St Mary's Seminary in Baltimore MD. Father was ordained to the priesthood May 26, 1962 at St Peter Cathedral in Wilmington by Bishop Michael W Hyle.
Father was first assigned to St Paul Church in Wilmington DE from 1962-64. He also served as associate pastor to St Helena Church in Bellefonte DE from 1964-69 and St Ann in Wilmington DE from 1969-72. Father served as pastor of Our Lady of Fatima in New Castle DE from 1972-82 and St Elizabeth in Wilmington DE from 1982-97, and in 1997 he was assigned to St Mary Magdalen Church in Wilmington DE, where he served until his death. Father O'Brien also served as diocesan director of the Catholic Youth Organization, director of Young Catholic Adults from 1968-73, Dean of the New Castle, City of Wilmington and Brandywine Hundred Deaneries, Secretary to the Priests' Council, a member of the diocesan Pastoral Council and coordinator of deaneries for the Diocese of Wilmington.
Father is survived by his sister, Margaret McDonald of Rockaway NY; and his brother, Michael J O'Brien of Long Island NY.
A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Mary Magdalen Church, Concord Pike & Sharpley Rd, Wilmington DE on Monday morning, January 13 at 11am. A viewing will take place at the church on Sunday, January 12 from 2-7pm with a wake service at 7pm and again on Monday morning, January 13 from 9-10:30am. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.

Patrick Raymond O'Brien, age 75, formerly of Wilmington, DE, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Autumn Grove Cottage, The Woodlands, TX. He was the husband of the late, Mary (Hayes) O'Brien, who passed away in April 1998, with whom he shared 39 years of marriage.
Patrick was born in Cork City, Ireland, the son of the late John Finbar and Johanna Grant O'Brien. He was raised in Ireland and served in the Irish National Guard. Patrick immigrated to the United States in the early 1960's. Patrick received a degree in mechanical engineering and was employed as a design engineer for the DuPont Experimental Station, retiring in 1994. Patrick was a founding member of the Irish Culture Club and was an avid soccer player with Kirkwood Soccer Club. He was a devout Catholic.
He loved the great outdoors and traveled most of the 50 states, Canada, Ireland, and England. Patrick could out-dance an Irish Leprechaun. Those who knew him enjoyed his warm smile, friendly nature, and kind heart.
Patrick was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and granddad. He brought joy to his family and left a legacy of love.
Survivers include his son, John P. O'Brien of Wilimington, DE; daughter, Kathleen O'Brien Williams and son-in-law, Stephen P. Williams; grandchildren, Heather, Stephen Jr., Sean, and Samuel, of the Woodlands, TX; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Maura O'Brien of Toronto, Canada, and John and Helen O'Brien of Luton, England; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Annette and Tom Thompson of Middletown, DE; and brother-in-law, Stephen Hayes of Middletown, DE; and nephews Stephen and John Hayes; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins overseas.

Michael died peacefully on January 5, 2015.
Michael, the only son of Daniel and Alice O'Callaghan, was born in 1937 in Cork City and moved to Sandymount, Dublin as a young child. Michael was a loyal husband, father, brother and friend. His Irish family and friends mourned his loss in Dublin last January. Many friends had known Michael since his cricket playing days in Sandymount, over 70 years ago. Predeceased by both his wives, Vickie in 1999 and Irene in 2008, Michael spent his last few years in Galway, close to his son Paul. Throughout his life, Michael had a special bond with his sister, Eileen, and they were always there for each other. A natural scholar, Michael studied Civil Engineering at University College Dublin graduating with a first class honors and then onto London's Imperial College for a Masters in Engineering. Graduating at the top of his class, Michael took full advantage of both scholarships he received.
After graduating Imperial College, Michael stayed in the United Kingdom. Those days in London and Wales marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life. A dear college friend, David Waters and his girlfriend, Betty, introduced Michael to Vickie Moran, a vivacious, beautiful nurse from Offaly, Ireland. They say it was love at first sight - Michael did once tell us that he knew Vickie was the one. Michael married Vickie and David married Betty. Their friendship lasted over 60 years. In 1963, knowing that his heart belonged to Ireland, and soon to be married, Michael found a job with the Institute for Industrial Research and Standards (IIRS) in Dublin. He moved home, got married settled back into his beloved Dublin and soon became a father. He had three children, John, Paul and Mary. All of his children love him dearly. He was a gentle dad with high standards. Vickie and Michael shared many values. They were kind friends always willing to give a helping hand. They understood the importance of a great education and diligence. Michael was always present for his family, in their early years and during all their lives until the end. After working for various companies, Michael moved to Readymix in 1974 and retired 26 years later. He specialized in the science of concrete, co-founding the Irish Concrete Society and representing Ireland at the European Society of Concrete Manufacturers. Many friends from these days turned up to his memorial mass in Dublin.
When Vickie passed away in 1999 after sharing 35 years together, Michael found a void in his life. Never one to feel sorry for himself, he went on many journeys. He travelled to Edinburgh, where Vickie has once worked as a nurse. Another time to Barcelona, where he honeymooned 36 years earlier. He took-up bridge, remodeled the family home and decided to retire in April 2000. He took joy in his new grandchildren and spent more time with all his family and friends. We will never know how fate brought Irene and Michael together in late October 2000. She was in Ireland at a family wedding along with Jimmy and Dorene, her son and daughter. Michael too was at this wedding with his family. He made it his business to get to know Irene, much to the surprise and then delight of all around them. Their courtship was the stuff of romantic tales. He wrote long letters, spent his first Thanksgiving in Delaware and things moved quickly. By June 2002, they were married in the same Irish church where Irene's parents were married over seven decades earlier. Michael left his beloved Dublin city and moved to Wilmington. He became a member of the Mallon clan, enjoying every moment with Irene's three children Dorene, Jimmy and Chip and Linda, his daughter-in-law. He took to Wilmington and his new family like a duck to water. He loved them. They loved him, first as the person he was and also as the man who made Irene, their mom so happy. It was perfect. Like many good things, it did not last as long as we wanted. Michael spent the last ten years of his life in poor health. Irene cared for Michael for the first three years of his poor health until 2008 and her untimely passing. Not long after, Michael became a U.S. Citizen. Michael then spent the next few years in Sheen Road under the watchful care of Jimmy, Linda and Julie, his caregiver. Their dedication to his welfare helped him weather many storms and his Irish family was very grateful their dad was in such good hands. Michael moved back to Ireland for the last few years. He ended up in a village in County Galway close to where his grandparents had taught over a 100 years ago.
His sons John and Paul, daughter Mary, sister Eileen, daughters-in-law Anne Marie and Siobhán and son-in-law Alex survive him. As do his grandchildren Ronan, Dáire, Rhain, Oisín, Eoin, Aidan and Catriona. His stepchildren Dorene, Jimmy and Chip, daughter-in-law Linda. Step grandchildren Catie, James, Eric, Charlie, Megan and Matty and great-granddaughter Elena.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel at All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington on Saturday, May 16th beginning at 10 AM and concluding with a committal service at 11:30 AM. Friends and family are invited to a reception at noon at the Back Burner Restaurant, 425 Hockessin Corner, Hockessin.

Bernie was born in Wilmington on April 29, 1937 to the late Milton and Stella Ogonowski. She worked at Delaware Park and the VA Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathryn A. O'Connell. Catherine O'Connell, age 88, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2012.
Catherine was born in Washington DC in 1923 and travelled extensively in the Foreign Service. She also taught school in Wilmington and Newark Delaware for 25 years before her retirement in 1985. She was an active member of St. John the Beloved parish until she moved to Springfield, VA in 2010 to be near family.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Shauna and Randy Shapiro of Fairfax Station, Virginia and her two grandsons Nicholas and Alexander. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Mrs. O'Connor was retired from Columbia Presbyterian Hospital as Benefits Administrator. Her husband, Thomas O'Connor, died in 1995. Passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at his home with his loving wife, Dee, by his side.
Chas was born in Wilmington, DE, July 14, 1932, to the late William T. and Anna (Zablotny) O'Connor and was the youngest of five children. He attended St. Paul Parochial School and was a graduate of Salesianum School (Class of 1949). At Sallies he was a member of the track team, coached and officiated baseball and basketball teams. He taught Sunday School at Holy Rosary Church.
Chas graduated from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science in 1958 with a degree in Pharmacy. His college was interrupted by three years of service to his country during the Korean War with ASA Intelligence Unit.
Cavanaugh Pharmacy is where Chas developed not only the his love of the profession but more importantly met the love of his life. He later worked at Paul C. Tigue Pharmacy for over 14 years. In 1972, returning to his roots bought Cavanaugh Pharmacy which he and his wife, Dee, opened and operated for 25 years as O'Connor's Pharmacy in the duPont Building. He served two terms as President of the Delaware Pharmacists Society and emceed multiple award banquets. Chas was the recipient of the Bowl of Hygeia and the Harry Zeisig Award, which showed his contribution and commitment to Pharmacy.
Chas joined the Knights of Columbus in 1964 and moved through the ranks of Chancellor to Grand Knight and eventually Executive Secretary to the State Deputy. He was the first recipient of the "State Knight of the Year" award and also received Monaghan Council "Knight of the Year" in the same year. His dedication to the youth programs of the Knights of Columbus Delaware State Council over the years is unequaled. He served as moderator, judge, score keeper, and rules interpreter for the Annual Declamation Contest. In 1971, he founded the annual Knights of Columbus Track Meet and worked tirelessly over a 27 year period to make it a success. He also founded the Knights of Columbus statewide Free Throw and S occer Skill contest, which again showed his dedication to our youth. Most recently, Chas was the first recipient of Jimmy Blunt Memorial Award last spring by the Catholic Youth Ministry.
Chas continued his life of service as treasurer of the St. Vincent De Paul Society of St. Ann Parish.
Chas was fun loving, had a great sense of humor, approached life with a passion, and enjoyed having his home filled with family and friends. Delaware Park was one of his favorite venues; he usually left happy to the dilemma of the race track accountants. He was a loving and devoted family man who will be dearly missed by all.
Chas is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dee (Dwyer) and by his six loving children and their spouses, Chip (Jennifer) of Wilm, DE , Donna Fetters (Jim) Holmes Beach, FL, Michael (Theresa) Newark, DE, Marianne Watson (Dennis) Landenberg, PA, Eileen Nolte (Chris) Wilm, DE, and Tommy (Mary) Landenberg, PA. Howard J. O'Connor, age 92, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 4, 2015.
Born in New York, NY on August 17, 1922, Mr. O'Connor was the son of the late Stephen O'Connor and Mary Howard O'Connor. He bravely served his country as a member of the US Navy during WWII. A devout Catholic, Mr. O'Connor was ordained as a permanent deacon by the Diocese of Wilmington and was a longtime and active parishioner at Holy Family Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 brother and 2 sisters. Mr. O'Connor is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Madeline A. (DiGioacchino) O'Connor; daughters, Maura O'Connor and Aminta O'Connor (Kenneth Nichols); 1 granddaughter, Katie Whitestone; 1 great granddaughter, Chloe Whitestone; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. O'Donnell passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Compassionate Care Hospice, St. Francis Hospital, in Wilmington. Catherine Marie O'Donnell was in New York City, N.Y., the daughter of James and Catherine Conway. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Arthur John O'Donnell on March 25, 1950 in New York City, N.Y. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1977. They shared a life together for 27 happy years.
During her long life, Catherine was active as an officer in PTA associations, a Cub Scout den mother and community activities. She and her husband Arthur were very active in Church of the Holy Child and Saint Mary Magdalen Church, Wilmington. She received her nursing degree from Delaware Technical Community College and worked at Wilmington Hospital and then Christiana Hospital until her retirement in 1994.
Catherine is survived by her children and their spouses; Patrick (Cleoria) O'Donnell, Las Vegas, NV, Mary Catherine O'Donnell, Raleigh, NC, Lawrence (Lilli) O'Donnell, Tyrone, GA, Thomas O'Donnell, Wilmington, DE, Peter O'Donnell, Austin, TX, Virginia (Charles) Collins, Pitman, NJ, Elizabeth (Carl) Lambert, Garnet Valley, PA, Theresa (Bill) Thompson, Chadds Ford, PA; 17 loving grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son Michael O'Donnell, a son Paul O'Donnell and a sister, Anita McDonald.
Catherine had a full life providing a loving home for her 10 children and 17 grandchildren, contributing to her community and church, and caring for the ill. Now her watch has ended. May God welcome her into his Kingdom.

John J. O'Donnell, Sr. ("Jack"), age 80, of New Castle, DE, formally of Glenville, passed away on April 8, 2014. He was born on November 22, 1933, in Wilmington, DE, to the late Joseph and Lily ("Nellie"- née Walsh) O'Donnell, both of whom emigrated from county Donegal, Ireland.
Jack attended St. Paul's Catholic School and Wilmington High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and served in Japan. Jack worked at the Electric Hose and Rubber Company, Veteran's Hospital, and Wilmington Housing Authority. He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, traveling, bowling, and live horse racing at Delaware Park.
Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Teresa ("Terry "), his parents, sister Marie Raymond (Richard) and brother Joseph (Susan). He is survived by his four children, Tracey A. O'Donnell, Sharon L. Peacock (Anthony), Ann M. O'Donnell, and John J. O'Donnell, Jr. (Kathy), five grandchildren, Anthony and Stephanie Peacock, and Kaitlyn, Ryan, and Megan O'Donnell; four siblings, Patrick (Penny), James (Susan), Charles O'Donnell, and Helen Passmore (Robert), and many nieces and nephews.

Age 90, of Newark, DE, died Tuesday December 8, 2009, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Grace and Dr. Jerome C. Kayatta. She was the wife of the late Edward "Ody" O'Donnell with whom she shared 47 years of marriage.
Born in Eldred, PA, she was a daughter of the late William E. and Mary Ellen Sullivan Aselin.
Margaret earned a BA in Elementary Education from Nazareth College of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and attended Columbia University in New York City. She went on to teach first grade for many years in Olean, New York.
She was a long-time member of St. Johns-Holy Angels in Newark, Delaware. She was a devoted Catholic with a wonderful loving attitude which made it so easy for everyone to be around.
Loving survivors include one daughter, Mary Grace Kayatta and her husband Dr. Jerome Kayatta; one son Dr. William O'Donnell of Annapolis MD; three granddaughters: Lynne Kayatta and her husband Dominic, Karen Cameron and her husband John, and Kristen Pierce and her husband Gary; six great-grandchildren: Sophia and Nicholas Kayatta, Madeleine and Holly Cameron, and Emily and Andrew Pierce; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her beloved husband, she was pre-deceased by her 2 sisters and 1 brother.

Regina M. O'Donnell, 92 of Wilmington, DE, peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013.
Mrs. O'Donnell was born in Wilmington on October 3, 1920, daughter of the late Leon and Bertha (Matublewski) Baust. A graduate of Ursuline Academy, she was very proud to be class valedictorian and attended Chestnut Hill College, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree. She was a loving homemaker who excelled in all things domestic - gardening, cooking, sewing, knitting and crocheting. Mrs. O'Donnell was also a teacher at St. Elizabeth's School from 1966 - 1978. She was a dedicated member of St. Matthew's Church and the parish Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality.
Her husband, Robert P. O'Donnell, passed away on April 7, 1980.
Mrs. O'Donnell is survived by her son, Patrick R. O'Donnell and his wife, Yvette; her daughters, Kathleen M. McCool, Mary M. Blackwell and her husband, Walt and Anne M. Mucha and her husband, Peter; her 9 grandchildren; and her 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Healy; and her nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth Crilly O'Hanlon, 91 of Pompano Beach, FL, formerly a long time resident of Wilmington, DE, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2013.
Bess was born in County Armagh, Ireland on June 20, 1921, the third of ten children of the late Patrick Joseph and Catherine (McCoy) Crilly. A certified mid-wife and registered nurse, she worked in England and Ireland during World War II. Bess arrived in the United States on Valentine's Day, 1952 to join the love of her life, Patrick James "Jim" O'Hanlon, and they married in April of that year. Together, they founded Jim O'Hanlon's Mister Donut and grew the business into a successful enterprise.
Bess was a member of St. John the Beloved Parish, the Irish Culture Club of Delaware and the Diocese of Wilmington Post Cana Group. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing at the Crystal Ballroom.
Her husband of 31 years, Jim, passed away in 1983. She was also predeceased by her son, Brian; and her six siblings.
Bess will be lovingly remembered by her sons, James and Sean; her daughters, Cait Graves and Alicia O'Hanlon; and her 10 grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Bridget Reynolds, Theresa Crilly and Joan Donohue.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on October 3, 1921. James graduated as salutatorian of his high school class. He moved to Wilmington, DE where he opened and operated a sheet metal and machine shop for 23 years. He indirectly performed work for NASA and many other large companies. He also worked for the University of Delaware and New Castle County where he retired as Chief Construction Inspector.
He found the love of his life, Margaret M. Bove O'Hara who he was married to for 50 years. She preceded his life in 2003; also preceding his life was his grandson Gabriel Briers O'Hara.
He is survived by his loving children, Judi O'Hara Blomquist & husband Gene, Jamie O'Hara & wife Teri, Peggy O'Hara Teofilak & husband Tony, Joe O'Hara & wife Becki, and eleven grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother-in-law Nick Bove, sister-in-law Penny Clementoni, brother-in-law Jack & wife Dolly Bove and many nieces and nephews.

John P. O'Hara Age 82, of Wilmington, DE, died at Christiana Hospital Monday, April 26. SERVICE: 10:30 am Friday at MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, Limestone and Milltown Rds., Wilmington. CALLING HOURS: 9 am Friday at the funeral home. BURIAL: All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.
Mr. O'Hara was a railroad engineer for more than 35 years before retiring in 1979. He was a WWII veteran where he served in the Pacific Theatre with the Army Air Corps 387th Bombardment Squadron. He was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Knights of Columbus, Monaghan Council where he was a Third Degree Knight. He was also a member of the Irish Culture Club and of St. John the Beloved Church where he was an active volunteer and participated in the Holy Name Society. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandsons. His wife, Charlotte S. O'Hara, died in 1996.

John D. "Jack" O'Leary, DMD, ended his valiant battle with cancer peacefully at home in Newark, DE, on Saturday, February 3, 2007, in the company of his loving wife, Renee, their pets, dear friend Peggy, and compassionate caregivers. Jack was born in Girard, PA the son of the late Dr. Joseph and Edna O'Leary. He made Newark his home for the majority of his life. A superb student, he entered Gannon College in Erie, PA at age 16 and went on to complete dental school at the University of Pittsburgh by the age of 22. He served proudly as a Lieutenant JG in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Jack moved to Delaware with his "heart of my heart" wife Renee, to complete his training as an oral & maxillofacial surgeon. He practiced in Newark for 34 years and, for the last 17 years of his career, headed that department at Christiana Medical Center. Though he retired in 1993, he maintained his dental license and collegial relationships, including membership in many professional organizations including the DE Dental Society, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Assoc., and Amer. Assoc. of Dental Anesthesiology. Golfing at the Newark Country Club was his favorite activity for many years. Jack also enjoyed a myriad of others, like talk radio, tailgating in the O'Leary motor home at UD football games, volunteering with the Newark Rotary Club (evening), and his monthly "bridge group" gatherings that spanned 30 years. A gourmet cook himself, Jack enjoyed dining and entertaining others at the University & Whist Club and the Blue & Gold Club. Jack was also a loyal patron and participant of the theater, especially the Chapel Street Players. He earned an instrument rating as a private pilot and enjoyed flying his own 6-seater plane regionally and cross-country. Jack's love of life, generosity, gentle spirit, and good humor endeared him to all who knew him. Numerous nieces and nephews, godchildren, and friends considered "Mr. Wonderful" someone who could always be counted on for help. Proud of his Irish heritage, he happily gained his Irish dual citizenship. Jack was truly fond of dogs, particularly his many Irish Wolfhounds and French Poodles. An officer of the Brandywine Motorsport Club, Jack co-founded the annual Braille Rally with Renee 37 years ago. An extraordinary car rallyist, he and Renee enjoyed great team success and were highly ranked in national/international rally programs. He also enjoyed his Porsche Club of America, DE Chapter membership. Jack's home rang with joy and laughter throughout the years. His favorite holiday, St. Patrick's Day, was celebrated annually with his own home-cooked Irish boiled dinner for 17 special friends. He also greatly enjoyed sharing "O'Leary Beach" (the backyard pool) with others. Whatever the occasion, Jack was both the consummate host and guest. Jack will be lovingly and deeply missed by Renee and the many whose lives he touched. His survivors also include his brother, Dr. Timothy O'Leary and wife, Peggy; two sisters, Martha Gette and Kathleen, wife of Dr. George Moylan; sister- and brother-in-law, Mary and Frank Didot; four godchildren; many nieces and nephews; and special friend Peggy Dee. Jack's final wishes were to thank his treatment team at the Helen Graham Cancer Center, Dr. Gregory Masters and Joan Huether, R.N., Dr. Joseph Ramzy, Dr. Gregory Adams, VITAS Hospice, his nephew Dr. Michael Gette, dear friend Dr. Peggy Dee, and all who helped during his cancer battle.
Margaret (Marge) O'Leary, "Mudder", age 84, passed away on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 surrounded by those she loved and who loved her.
Born in Alaquippa, PA to parents John S. and Anna Muza, she was one of ten brothers and sisters. As a young child, the family moved to Kansas City, MO, Marge was the middle child and formed a lifelong bond and a sense of closeness to her siblings. She lived in Delaware for over 50 years but in her heart, Kansas City was always home.
As a young woman she was employed at Boeing Aircraft, modeled coats, suits and furs at two of Kansas City's most prominent department stores, and as a bookkeeper/payroll clerk for one of the city's largest linen supply houses. Marriage to husband Robert J. O'Leary, Sr. followed in 1949.
In 1955 she and Bob, along with children, Stephen, Bobby and Patty moved to Newark, DE. In 1965, daughter Kimberly was born. Marge owned and operated The Greenville Delicatessen from 1960 until retiring in 1975. She touched the lives of so many people in her own special, memorable way. Once meeting Marge, you did not easily forget her!
Upon retirement, she especially enjoyed the various trips and vacations she took with her children and family, a number of those involving visits back to Kansas City to spend time with her extended family and lifelong friends.
Affectionately known as "Mudder", a name given to her many years ago by her first grandchild Traci, she will truly be missed and remembered by the many whose good fortune it was to have known her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son Robert J. O'Leary Jr., granddaughter, Traci Lynn O'Leary; 2 brothers; 3 sisters and former husband, Robert J. O'Leary Sr. She is survived by children, Stephen and his partner Ron Wentz of Wilmington; Pat Simmerman and husband Rod of Newark; Kimberly Constantini and husband Richie of Hockessin; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers and 1 sister; also several nieces and nephews for whom she had a special affection.

John R. O'Melia, 61, of Coatesville, passed away on April 3, 2012, at Brandywine Hospital.
Born in Chester in 1950, John was the son of Jean Boggs and Jack O'Melia.
He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force. John is survived by his brother, Wayne D. O'Melia and his wife, Suzanne of Baltimore, Md. and his sister, Patti Ingram and her husband, Dan of Jacksonville, Fla.

Eugene (Gene) Brendan O'Neill, age 83, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of New York City, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 9, following a year and a half battle with cancer. He was the son of Jeremiah and Mary (nee Burke) O'Neill, both formerly of County Kerry, Ireland.
In 1951 Gene earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Fordham University with a major in Chemistry. A few months later, he served the U.S. Army as a corporal in Korea where he supervised merchandising/warehousing operations, and was honorably discharged in 1953. He was later transferred from active military duty to Army Reserves at Ft. Kilmer, NJ where he served until 1959. During his military years Gene earned a Korean Service Medal with three bronze stars for service as well as one from the United Nations.
During the first two years Gene served in the Army he was actively courting Geraldine (Geri) Desmond, his "girl from Queens". He married her on May 1, 1954, and a few months later the couple relocated to Claymont, DE where they began raising a family of four children. In December, 1966 Gene moved his family to their new home in north Wilmington, residing there until just before the final week of his life.
For more than 30 years Gene worked for Haveg Industries (later Ametek) in Wilmington serving as a chemist/manager until his retirement in 1994. However, Gene wasn't destined to enjoy a life of leisure, because a few months later he was recruited to help his son launch PSCI, Inc., a technical staffing firm located in north Wilmington. For the next 20 years Gene worked part-time as an assistant bookkeeper until he became too ill to continue working.
Gene was always a warm and loving father who doted on his kids and their friends. He was also an avid sports' enthusiast who regularly played football during his teens and college years. Each succeeding decade found Gene participating in softball, bowling, and later on, golf which he played well into his sixties. He loved going to Phillies' games and devotedly attended nearly every basketball, soccer, and football game his children and grandchildren were involved in. Up until the final month of his life, Gene was tuned into ESPN and became a "sports aficionado", who always enjoyed a good discussion about matches and events with anyone who shared similar interests.
Gene's family wishes to express gratitude to every staff member of Compassionate Care Hospice who met his needs and ministered to his relatives as they rendered highly skilled professional services characterized by kindness, love, and sensitivity.
Gene was predeceased in March by Geri, his beloved wife of nearly 60 years; their son, Matthew W. O'Neill in January 2000; daughter, Mary O'Neill Rush in May 2004; and his sister, Mary Chmil of San Diego, CA in January 2012. He is survived by his brother, Gerald O'Neill of San Diego, CA; daughter, Cathleen L. O'Neill of Wilmington; son, Christopher J. O'Neill (Liz) of Wilmington; Matthew's widow, Rebecca Godwin (Ron) of Middletown, DE; Mary's widower, John Anderson Rush (Bev) recently of Tacoma, WA; eight grandchildren: Patrick O'Neill of Wilmington; Sean O'Neill (Lizzy) of Conshohocken, PA, Christine O'Neill of Hoboken, NJ; Helen Rush (Gabe Aniya) and Jack Rush of Washington, DC; Dan Rush recently of Tacoma, WA; and Brent and Maxwell O'Neill of Middletown.

Francis John O'Neill, 90, died peacefully at Rockland Place on April 19, 2012. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, he was the son of the late Catharine Brown O'Neill and Hugh O'Neill, both of Ireland.
Frank was married for 31 years to the love of his life, the late Constance Rita (Connie) Rucinski. He was a member of the first graduating class of the H. Fletcher Brown Vocational High School. A veteran of World War II, serving in the Army at the Battle of the Bulge, Frank later worked for 30 years as an electrician at General Motors. His interests included politics, health food and traveling abroad, especially to his ancestral home in Ireland.
His longtime friend was the late Stanley Damiecki, whose wife, Mary (Micki) Skelly Damiecki Lenhard, and family remained close to Frank throughout his life. His goddaughter, Gerri Damiecki Irish, remembers him fondly as her family's official Santa's helper and photographer. He is survived by one sister, Martha McHugh, and leaves behind many nieces and nephews, including Connie's niece, Cyndy Carrington Miller, and his nephew's wife, Gail Bisio, who together assumed care for him in his waning years. Frank was preceded in death by seven siblings, Thomas O'Neill, Mary Bisio, Catharine McCool, Hugh Francis O'Neill, Hugh V. O'Neill, James O'Neill and Theresa Parker.
A devout Catholic, he was a longtime member of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, 901 East Newport Pike, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 25, at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the Mass. Interment will follow in the All Saints Cemetery.

James W. O'Neill Age 74. Of Wilmington, DE. Died Monday June 21 in Manor Care Center, Pike Creek. Mr. O'Neill retired in 1985 as an Operating Engineer for Local 542 after 35 years. He was a Navy veteran and served on the U.S.S. Riddle D.E. 185. During his stay on the ship, the U.S.S. Riddle was involved in 19 major invasions and received 12 Battle Stars in the South Pacific. The U.S.S. Riddle was one of the most decorated war ships in WWII. He was formerly a member of the Knights of Columbus and a former member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church for 36 years.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, K. Joan O'Neill; his son, Kevin J. O'Neill of Avondale, PA; his daughters, Kathleen P. Ostrishko, A. Joanne McMahon and Kimberley J. Born in Wilmington, Joe was the son of the late Joseph A. and Mary (Harney) O'Neill. He graduated from Salesianum School in 1965 and St. Joseph's College in 1969. For 40 years, he worked as a guidance counselor at St. Mark's High School where he also coached Cross Country for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Patricia (McHale) O'Neill; four daughters, Amy P. O'Neill, Elise M. Zapp and her husband Matt, Maureen P. O'Neill and Megan P. O'Neill and her husband Misael Gonzalez; and his grandchildren, Brendon A. O'Neill and Maya and Grace Gonzalez. Also surviving is his aunt, Rita M. Harney; his sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Bernard Fisher; his brother and sister-in-law, Vincent and Catherine O'Neill; two nieces, Rebecca Keen and Marianne Fisher; and a great nephew, Gideon Keen.

Mrs. Muriel Gaffney O'Neill, age 85, of Newark, DE, died on Friday, January 9, 2009.
Born in Charleston, SC, Muriel was a daughter of the late Dr. Edward M. Gaffney and Oriole Walsh Gaffney. She married Aloysius M. O'Neill, Jr. in 1944 before he was deployed overseas during WWII. She was a registered nurse by profession, first at St. Francis Infirmary in Charleston and later for many years at the former Wilmington General Hospital. A devout Catholic throughout her life, she was a longtime member of Holy Family parish and a Right to Life advocate. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels for many years. Muriel was at her happiest surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
She never passed up a chance to play cards and games with family and friends. Muriel and her husband enjoyed travelling to Ireland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Holland, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Burma, Thailand, Okinawa, Hawaii, and many cruise destinations.
She is survived by her beloved husband and her 6 children, Aloysius M. O'Neill III and his wife Jin, Michael O'Neill, Kevin O'Neill and his wife Anita, Oriole O'Neill, Kathleen Splane and her husband Frank, and Sean O'Neill and his wife Darlene. She doted on her "precious" grandchildren, Key O'Neill and his wife Jisuu, Sean and Patrick Splane, who are currently deployed overseas with the Marine Corps, and Leah and Lauren O'Neill. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Her brothers, Francis and Maynard Nohrden, preceded her in death.

John Joseph O'Reilly, 84 of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 20, 2017.
He was born and spent his childhood in Atlantic City, NJ, son of the late Edward and Anna O'Reilly. He is preceded in death by his son, Kevin J. O'Reilly; and his sister, Marie Williamson.
John graduated from Salesianum High School in 1951 and proudly served in the US Navy Reserve and then enlisted with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.
John and his wife, Eleanor, founded Shamrock Printing Company in 1972. Thanks to the work ethic passed on to his children, Shamrock Printing Company remains in business today, over 45 years later.
John was a true Irishman who enjoyed trips to the beach, fishing, travel, happy hours, listening to Frank Sinatra, and above all else, spending time with his family at their summer home in Avalon, NJ.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Eleanor (Nenstiehl); his children, Michael, of Hockessin, Kathy Sumner, of Hockessin, and David (Marlene), of Lincoln University, PA; his 9 grandchildren, Kelli, Danny, Brock, Kourtney, Kaitlin, Owen, Megan, Alicia and Sean; his great-grandchildren, Jake, Vinnie and Catrine; his sister, Shirley Tobin; and his brother-in-law, Howard Williamson.

Joan H. O'Sullivan, age 82, of Newark, DE, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at her home.
Mrs. O'Sullivan was born in Newark, NJ, on March 23, 1929, daughter of the late Edward J. Horn and Marie Kissane Horn. A devoted and beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, she delighted in caring for her family; her family was truly her life and she was always at her happiest when in their company.
Mrs. O'Sullivan was a talented homemaker throughout her life and looked forward each year to designing and planting the lovely flower gardens around her home. She also enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, and cheering for her favorite teams, the Phillies and the Eagles.
A devout Catholic, she was a longtime member of Holy Angels parish.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert E. O'Sullivan, Sr., with whom she celebrated 60 years of marriage on September 1st; children, Colleen O'Sullivan of Springfield, VA, Robert E. Robert Emmett O'Sullivan, Sr., age 89, of Annapolis, MD and formerly of Newark, DE, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015.
Born in East Orange, NJ on January 31, 1926, Robert was the son of the late Edwin J. and Gertrude (Steele) O'Sullivan. He was a member of the graduating class of 1943 from East Orange High School and later received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Penn State in 1948. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Robert honorably served his country during WWII. He made his career in the refinery industry and worked with Tidewater, Getty and Texaco Oil Companies, retiring in 1985 as Chief Engineer.
In his leisure time, Robert enjoyed genealogy research. He was an avid animal lover and adored his faithful canine companions. Above all else, Robert was a devoted and loving father and grandfather and will be very dearly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Horn) O'Sullivan. Robert is survived by his children, Colleen O'Sullivan of Springfield, VA, Robert E. O'Sullivan, Jr. (Penny) of Stratham, NH and Mary Beth Jones of Annapolis, MD; grandchildren, Nicholas M. Lawrence J. O'Toole Sr., age 85, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late John J. and Madelyn W. O'Toole, "Larry" was also preceded in death by his sister, Rhita and brother, John.
Larry was a standout "triple threat" athlete at Wilmington High School, excelling at basketball, baseball and football. He attended the University of Delaware on a football scholarship and also played baseball. He was especially proud to be a member of the university's 1946 Cigar Bowl National Championship football team. After two years of service in the United States Army, he completed a degree in education at the West Chester State Teachers' College.
Following his education, he began what would become a 33-year teaching career at Bohemia Manor High School in nearby Maryland. At "Bo Manor," Larry enjoyed his many years as a Biology teacher and was proud to inspire numerous students on to careers in the sciences. He also shared his love of sports as an assistant football and baseball coach for many seasons. Larry retired in 1994.
In his own words, his greatest achievement was his family. He is survived by his wife Julie (Rubini), and six children: Larry O'Toole, Jr., Maureen Murphy, Loraine O'Toole, David O'Toole, Diane Ruth and Darren O'Toole. Two highlights of his later years were his grandchildren, Christian Ruth and Daniel Murphy. Larry is also survived by his sister-in-law, Lena O'Toole, as well as several nieces and nephews.
His family is grateful to the staffs of Christiana Care Hospital, ManorCare Health Services Pike Creek, and Heartland Hospice for all their care and compassion.

Ms. Valerie Jo Oakes, age 51 of Wilmington, DE, passed way at her Aunt Dela's home, surrounded by her loving family, on April 9, 2009.
Valerie was born in Wilmington on January 6, 1958, daughter of the late Vilma (Pettinaro) Oakes. She had worked as an insurance specialist for Connor Strong Insurance Company. Kind and com-passionate, Valerie was unconditionally willing to lend her aid and support to those in need. She cherished time spent with her loved ones, finding great joy and fulfillment in vacationing with family and friends, notably in Rehoboth Beach and Florida, and treasuring the many days and nights spent with her Aunt Dela and family.
Valerie is survived by her aunts and uncles, Dela and Tommy Donovan, Leonard and Shirley Iacono, Verino and Midge Pettinaro, and Vivien and Wayne Brittingham; and many cousins who loved her deeply. She was predeceased by her grandmother, Guiditta Pettinaro Iacono.

Panama City Beach, Fla. - Constance Lorraine Oatley, age 78, of Panama City Beach, FL and formerly of Claymont, DE and Galena, MD, passed away peacefully surrounded by her devoted husband, daughters Sandy and Nancy, and her grandson Andrew on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Covenant Care Hospice.
Connie was born in Chester, PA, daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Mamczur Fedena. Connie was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and attended the University of Delaware.
Connie was a teacher at St. Mary Magdalen in Wilmington and St. Hedwig's in Chester. She was the self proprietor of Nostalgia Country Gifts store in Galena, Maryland that she and her husband Richard operated for over 18 years. Nostalgia was a popular gathering spot in Galena, where the smell of potpourri and the old fashioned ambiance was like stepping back in time. Connie was a huge Phillies fan and enjoyed watching all the games and rooting for her team. She loved living by the water and three of her homes were situated at waters edge.

Christine Weiss Obara, age 76, of Wilmington, Delaware, formerly of Lansford, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2017.
She attended Lansford High School, and graduated from Goldey Beacom College. After working at Hercules, Inc., she served as the secretary at St. Anthony of Padua Grade School for more than 25 years. A true woman of faith, she was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church. She enjoyed entertaining, the holidays, and birdwatching, as well as spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Emma Weiss, brother Charles William, and husband Frank Obara, Jr. Her warm smile, caring spirit, and loving generosity will be missed by her beloved family: her sister Carol Robichaud of Wilmington, her children Frank Obara III of Wilmington and Elizabeth Obara Piedramartel of Baltimore, and their spouses (Paige Obara and Abdel Piedramartel) and children (Charles & Leyna Obara and Nathaniel & Gabriel Piedramartel).

Henry "Hank" Oboryshko, age 78, of Heritage Park died Friday, January 11, 2008 at the Regal Heights nursing home after a long illness.
Hank was born in 1929 in Wilmington, DE. Hank lived most of his life in Delaware. He had a long and varied career. He served honorably in the US Army, and then graduated from the University of Delaware as an Electrical Engineer. After receiving his degree, Hank started a successful business for many years designing and building components for defense radar. In the second half of his working life he was a teacher, teaching shop and other subjects to Special Education students at the Hodgson Vocational Technical High School. Hank was an activist for the mentally retarded and was an early president of the ARC of Delaware. In later years Hank was active in the Pike Creek Lion's Club.

Matilda A. (Borum) Obusek, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 9, 2013 at her home in Governor's Crossing, Englishtown, NJ.
Known to all as Mattie, she was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA and married the love of her life, John G. Obusek. They lived in Wilmington, DE and celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary when John passed away in 2001. She later moved to New Jersey.
Mattie was a big band singer and made several appearances on radio in her younger years. She remained an inspired singer throughout life and was known for hosting fantastic piano sing alongs before anyone could spell karaoke. Mattie was a high roller (bingo and bowling) and an avid church goer. A loving mother and grandmother, her Babci bread was loved by all.
Mattie is survived by her daughters, Patricia Makowski and Suzanne Obusek; her sons, Jack and Robert; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
A visitation for Mattie will be held at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808 on Tuesday, August 13 from 5:30 - 7:30PM. Henry "Chick" Ogonowski, age 86, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Christiana Hospital in the presence of his loving family. The son of the late Anthony and Stella Ogonowski, he was a proud WWII Army veteran, having served in Italy for 2 years. He was employed with General Motors as an electrical repairman, retiring in 1979 after 32 years. Chick was the neighborhood repairman, gardener and a good friend to all.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rita (Murphy) Ogonowski and his son, James C. Ogonowski. Chick will be dearly missed by his granddaughters, Julie Bickel (Jonathan) and Lisa Harlan (Johnny); his great-grandchildren, Ellie Bickel and Jack Harlan and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his 3 brothers: Joseph, Edward and Francis; and his 4 sisters: Sophie Napolski, Helen Siple, Stella Chalfant and Jeanne Gregson.

Age 85, of Ocean View, DE and formerly of Wilmington, went home to be with the Lord on July, 15, 2011.
Mrs. Ogorek was the daughter of the late Mary (Johnson) and James P. Brady. Millicent retired in 1994 after 25 years from Phoenix Steel Corp. in Claymont, where she was also a member of the United Steelworkers of America, Local 6627. She is also retired from her second career with Acme Markets after 10 years in 2007, where she was a member of the UFCW, Local 152. Millicent was an active member of the Women's Auxiliary of the VFW post #5892, where her late husband, Joseph S. Ogorek served as Post Commander. Joseph passed away in 1992.
Millicent is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Frank Cardamone of Bethany Beach, DE and their children, Frank J. Cardamone, with whom she lived and Gina Cardamone of Wilmington. She will be dearly missed by her constant companion, her European Shepherd, Schultz.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning at 11:30 am at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road, where friends may call after 10 am. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.

Ava Marie Markham Ogu, age 65, of Newark, DE, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2011, at Christiana Hospital. Born in Los Angeles, CA, on December 20, 1945, Mrs. Ogu was the daughter of the late James C. Markham and Florence (Bessey) Markham; and a sister to the late William Case and George Case.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Dr. Echeazu Ogu; children, Uchenna, Chinyere, Ahamefule, and Emeka; grandchildren, Amee, Xeniyah, Anthony and Aaron; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; and many nephews and nieces in the USA and Nigeria.
Ava graduated from Cleveland High in St. Louis, MO in 1964, and obtained her B.S. in Education from Harris-Stowe State College in St. Louis in 1979, earning a Lifetime Missouri Teacher's Certificate.
Ava, a member of the Baha'i Faith, truly celebrated the oneness of mankind in her multi-cultural family. Ava and family previously lived in St. Louis, MO; Lagos, Nigeria; Norwich, NY; and Clermont-Ferrand, France. Prior to volunteering her time as an educator and raising her family, she worked at Barnes Hospital and in the Dean's Office of the School of Engineering at Washington University, both in St. Louis.
She was an advocate for racial justice. Soft spoken and witty, her interests included anthropology, genealogy, the local antiques auction circuit, and solving media crime dramas.

Edward R. Okoniewski, of Wilmington, DE, died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Christiana Hospital after a brief illness.
Edward was born in Wilmington on February 11, 1930 to Mary Catherine Adamski Okoniewski and Valentine Okoniewski. Ed was a graduate of St. Hedwig Grade School, Salesianum High School Class of 1949, and received a diploma from the Chicago Technical College. He started his carpentry career with Joseph Cieniewicz of Wilmington and worked in all phases of high pressure laminates such as formica and texolite, in the shops of Hyman River and Continental Custom Floors. He worked for 24 years at Christiana Care Health Services. He spent 14 of those years in facilities and engineering as a maintenance carpenter, and 10 years as a supervisor, working both at Christiana and Wilmington Hospitals. He also served at Wilmington General Hospital as a carpenter. Ed retired in 1995.
Ed was an active member of St. Hedwig Holy Name Society while it was still in existence and was one of the first lectors at St. Hedwigs. He played on the Holy Name Society softball team for 5 years. Ed was a lifelong sports enthusiast and he particularly loved watching the Phillies, the Eagles, and Duke Basketball. As a Pigeon Fancier, and he took great joy and pride in breeding and racing his homing pigeons. He was a member of the American Racing Pigeon Union, the Newark Delaware Homing Pigeon Club, and the Wilmington Homing Pigeon Club. Ed considered homing pigeons to be World Class Atheletes. He was also a member of the Delaware Hospital Luncheon Committee. He also took pleasure in working in his summer garden.
Ed is survived by by his loving wife of 45 years, Mary Faith Sliwkowski Okoniewski; his devoted daughter, Mary Cecelia Okoniewski Plouffe; son-in-law, Michael Plouffe; and 14 month old grandson, Nathan Paul Plouffe, who was the light of his life. He is also survived by his siblings, Sr. Mary Laetitia Okoniewski, Francis Okoniewski, Dorothy Blaschke, Elizabeth Barczewski, Lawrence Okoniewski, Sr. Mary DeLourdes Okoniewski, Albin Okoniewski, Leona Pagagno, and Carolyn Wells; as well as his sisters and brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Florence Okoniewski, and his brother William Okoniewski.
Ed's family would like to extend warm thanks to the physicians and staff of the Surgical Critical Care Complex and 6C at Christiana Hospital for their expertise and compassion during Ed's illness.

Bernie was born in Wilmington, DE on June 14, 1952, the daughter of Stanley and Estelle Deptula. Bernie graduated from Conrad High School and attended Goldey-Beacom College. Bernie worked through the years at various retail positions including Candy Bouquet. Her true joy was volunteering her time at Our Lady of Fatima as homeroom mom and also at St. Elizabeth's. Bernie enjoyed traveling the world especially with her best friend, Dot.

Francis William Olewinski, age 75 of Newark, DE, died on Monday, November 7, 2005, at the Riverside Extended Care Pavilion in Wilmington.
Mr. Olewinski worked for the US Postal Service for 37 years, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed fishing and crabbing in his earlier years and more recently enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles and classic movies.
Mr. Olewinski is survived by his wife of 50 years, Irene Waclawski Olewinski; a daughter, Francine Olewinski of Elkton, MD; and a brother and sister-in-law, William F. and Mary Olewinski of Wilmington.

Age 94, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at home in Fernandina Beach, Florida on March 31, 2010, surrounded by her family.
She was a graduate of St. Agnes Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, Pa. and served with the army during WW II as a second lieutenant. She met her husband, Edward S. "Porky" Oliver while in the service and they married in Fort Dix, N.J. Clare traveled with her husband on the PGA tour, eventually settling in Wilmington, DE to raise their four children.
She was employed by St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington and retired from there in 1987. After retirement, she traveled frequently to visit family and friends, settling in Florida in 1990. Known as "Ollie" to her coworkers and "Mom- Mom" to family and friends, she was a great cook, a champion crossword puzzler, loved Word Finder books and was an intense Scrabble player. She had a gentle spirit and was loved by all who knew her.
Clare was preceded in death by her husband, Edward S. "Porky" Oliver, who died in 1961. She is survived by her children and spouses, Edward S. Oliver III and wife Pat of Whigam, GA, Joanne Page and husband Tony , with whom she made her home for many years, of Fernandina Beach, FL, Robert A. Oliver and wife Mary of Newark, DE, and John F. Oliver and wife Kathy of Dagsboro, DE. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and spouses, Christopher Page, Jennifer and Richard Rosenblum, Heather Csonka and Courtney and Dave Platt, who lovingly cared for Mom- Mom in the last year of her life. Also, Katie Oliver, Erinn and Dan Cook and Craig Oliver, and by eight great- grandchildren, Rachel, Richard and Ryan Rosenblum, Page and Jacob Csonka, Ally and Sophia Platt and John-John Cook.
Funeral services were held on April 2, in Fernandina Beach, FL. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington, DE, where a graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 8, at 1 pm.

Splendora M. Olivieri, 89 of Wilmington, DE, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2011.
Miss Olivieri was born in Wilmington on January 15, 1922, daughter of the late Antonio and Madalena (Bonvetti) Olivieri. She was employed as a clerk with the DuPont Company and retired after many years of dedicated service. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and the parish Legion of Mary.
Miss Olivieri is survived by her sisters, Josephine Wroten and her husband, Jacob, Nancy Petrucci and Lena D'Antonio and her husband, Emidio; her nephews, John Wroten, Anthony, Stephen and David D'Antonio and Phil Mastrippolito; her nieces, Jo Ann Mosiej, Christine Maurer and Joan Payne; and several great nieces and nephews.

Eugene William Olszewski "GeneO", age 73, of Bear, DE passed away on February 11, 2016. He was the son of the late, William and Anna Olszewski. GeneO retired as a sheet metal mechanic after 40 years in the trade. He was a member of the St. Gabe's Club in New Castle and the Delaware City Recreation Club. GeneO enjoyed shuffleboard, turkey shoots, and going to the Delaware Park Race Track. He was devoted to his wife of 53 years, the love of his life and best friend, Doris Ann Olszewski and his family.

Henry J. Olszewski Age 76 of New Castle, DE passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2002 in the Christiana Hospital.
Henry was a Navy veteran serving during WWII. He was a aerial gunner. After his retirement from the Navy he joined the Delaware Air Guard where he retired as a Master Sergeant. He was a member of the Polish American Post #3257 VFW. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church where he was a former trustee and a member of the Men of Malvern.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Irene; a son, Gerard H. and his wife, Kathleen; a daughter, Diane and her husband, Gabriel Alvini; and 10 grandchildren.
Passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at The Summit in Hockessin, DE.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Henry.

Gloria York Oosterom, 82, of West Grove, PA and formerly of Newark, DE, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, with her loving family at her side.
She was born in White Plains, NY, daughter of the late James and Helen (Sayre) York. Gloria graduated from Johns Hopkins School of Nursing in 1956 and shortly thereafter, married Eugene Oosterom. They moved to Delaware and started their family. In 1978, she graduated from the University of Delaware with her Bachelor's degree in nursing. Gloria was a member of the Visiting Nurses Association and eventually worked for the State of Delaware's Public Health Department, retiring in 2000.
Gloria and Eugene were active members of Resurrection Parish, where she served as a lector for several years. They were also founding members of Skyline Swim Club; were active at the Academy of Lifelong Learning and were fans of the Resident Ensemble Players - both at the University of Delaware. Gloria and Eugene were also very well-traveled, taking trips to every continent besides South America and Antarctica, and also various locations throughout the continental United States. Gloria enjoyed annual family trips to Dewey Beach, was an avid reader, and was an ardent supporter of her grandsons with their sporting events and activities.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Eugene Oosterom; her children, Susan Ross (David), Bill Oosterom (Donna), Beth Oosterom Kanyock (Steve) and Michael Oosterom (Zachary); her grandsons, Mike and Ben Ross, and Max and Arie Oosterom; her siblings, James York and Ruth Bott (Bob); her step-granddaughter, Jennifer Lemieux (Steve); and step-great-grandson, Oliver Lemieux; as well as several nieces, nephews, and members of her extended family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Resurrection Parish, 3000 Videre Drive, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may visit from 9:45am - 10:45am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.

Marion L. "Minnie" Oppermann, age 93, passed away peacefully November 8, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to the late Harvey and Margaret King.
After graduating Uniontown High School, she married the late Albert "Bud" Oppermann. Living for a time in State College, Pennsylvania, Minnie and her husband became life-long Penn State Football fans. She was a dedicated homemaker to her five children. Minnie was a wonderful "Mammie" to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Bud Oppermann, in 2003, three brothers, Harvey Jr., Edward and Gerald, and one sister, Jane Garrow.
She is survived by her children, Albert "Buddy" Oppermann (Debbie) of Wilmington, Betsy Murphy (Robert) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mary Beth Young (Richard) of Hellertown, Pennsylvania, Ann Burt (Ron) of Raleigh, North Carolina and, Leslie Slate (Edmund) of Wilmington; also survived by 12 grandchildren, Sean Murphy, Amy Dischler (Dennis), Matthew Murphy (Renee), Richard Young, Jr. (Sarah), Ashley McEvoy (Dan), Nick Mangum (Claudin), Christopher Slate, Kelly Baltzer (Adam), Olivia Slate, SaraBeth Oppermann, Riley Slate and Grace Slate, 13 great-grandchildren; and by her sister, Nancy D'Auria.

John Opreska Age 81, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Thursday September 16, 1999 at home.
Born in Wilmington, he is the son of the late Stephen and Anna Opreska.
He was a first-class surveyor for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 542 D. He worked on the construction sites on the Delaware Memorial Bridge. He belonged to the Civilian Conservation Camp for many years. He enjoyed exercising, gardening, and going to the YMCA.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Dorothy M. (nee Munger) Opreska, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by 2 sisters, Mary Opreska Mudry and Stella Opreska Short, and 3 brothers, Peter Opreska, Nick Opreska and Michael Opreska.

Joseph John Orlowski, age 92, of Newark, DE, passed on to be with God on Saturday, November 19, 2016.
Born in Scranton, PA on December 12, 1923, he was the son of the late Stanley and Antosia (Budziewski) Orlowski. Joe was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII. He made his career as pipe fitter with the DuPont Company, retiring after 32 years of dedicated service.
Active in his community, Joe gave of his time as a volunteer with the Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Fire Company, was a longtime member of Lt. J. Allison O'Daniel VFW Post No. 475 and a parishioner of Holy Angels R.C. Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. In his leisure time, Joe loved gardening alongside his wife, Doris.
He is survived by his wife, Alice "Doris" (Meeds) Orlowski; 4 daughters; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

James Orsino, 93, of Elmwood, Newark, DE, died on Sunday November 28, 1999.
Mr. Orsino had been a mechanic for Republic Aviation in Long Island, NY, retiring in 1955 after 21 years. He was a member of Newark Senior Center and enjoyed walking at the Christiana Mall.
Mr. Orsino's wife, Angela C. DeBetta Orsino, died in 1985. He is survived by his daughter, Christine M. Orsino Kosiewicz of Newark; and a sister, Lena "Tootsie" Carlson of Long Island.

Lorraine Dorothy Osmick, age 100, of Newark, DE passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2017.
Born in Muskegon, MI on November 15, 1916, Lorraine was a daughter of the late Edwin D. and Julia E. (Drummond) Johnson. A talented homemaker, she dedicated her life to caring for her family.
Active in her community, Lorraine was a former president of the Newark New Century Club, where she received many poetry citations. She served as a Sunday school teacher for ten years at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was a longtime member of the DuPont Country Club. Lorraine was an avid golfer who also enjoyed playing the piano and taking art classes.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. Osmick; sisters, Phyllis Klein and Ruth Dillon. Lorraine is survived by her daughters, Mary Jane Osmick (George Goldman) and Julia Penna (Paul); granddaughter, Nikki Farley (A.J.); and great grandson, Nate Farley.

Nadine was born, raised, and resided in Wilmington, DE where she graduated from John Dickinson High School. For the past 16 years she was an Administrative Assistant at Immaculate Heart of Mary School. Nadine enjoyed reading, sewing,and crafting. She cherished spending time with her family and pets.
She was the eldest of three children born to and survived by Robert and Rita Trimmer. Mary V. Owens, age 90, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Friday, September 13, 2013.
Mary was born April 25, 1923 in Pittsburgh, PA., the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Wesser. She attended St. Bernard's grade school and Mt. De Sales Academy and was a school Librarian for the Red Clay School District. She married H. Willard Owens on November 11, 1944.
She was predeceased by her husband, H. Willard Owens in 2004 and her son, Joseph F. Owens in 2010. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Owens of Wilmington; her grandchildren, Shelby D. Ms. Owens was born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Mary (Kluter) and H. Willard Owens. Pat was a 1973 graduate of St. Marks High School. Her loyalty to the school and its performing arts program was her passion. She was an avid pianist and also taught private lessons in the area. A church organist, she played Catholic Masses at many churches within the Dioceses of Wilmington. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Joseph F. Owens.
Pat is survived by her niece, Shelby Owens and her nephew, Chad Owens, both of Wilmington.

Abraham "Abe" Oybkhan, age 89, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2011. He was born in Bloomfield, NJ on October 8, 1921 to the late Alexander and Leah Isaacs Oybkhan.
Abe served his country in the 82nd Airborne, PIR 508, Company D. He fought during the Battle of the Bulge and the Ardennes. For his service, he was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Abe made various jumps including one in Holland.
Later in life, he began a career as a brick pointer with Local 1BA. He was a member of the American Legion, Lawrence Roberts Post 21. He belonged to the 82nd Airborne Washington, DC Chapter and Battle of the Bulge, Brandywine Hundred Chapter. In his free time, Abe enjoyed fishing at the Indian River Inlet.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Suzanne Dwyer Oybkhan; sons John (Sandy) and Michael (Beth); grandchildren, Hannah and Lexi Oybkhan, Ryan and Tony Cirillo; brother, Ephriam Oybkhan; and nephew, David Oybkhan. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Oybkhan and sister, Sarah Oybkhan.
Services will be held 11 am on Monday, March 28, at R.T. Foard and Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main Street, Newark, DE 19711. Friends and family may call on Sunday, March 27, from 6 to 8 pm. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery following the service.

Suzanne Dwyer Oybkhan, age 83, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016. Born December 9, 1932 at the Flower Hospital in Newark, DE, Suzanne was the daughter of the late John and Annie (Tweed) Dwyer.
Suzanne graduated from Newark High School in 1951 and went on to work for the Chrysler Corporation, where she retired after 30 years of service. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband and spending time with her wonderful family and dear friends.
Suzanne is survived by her two sons, John A. Oybkhan and Michael D. Oybkhan and his wife, Beth; two grandchildren, Hannah and Lexi Oybkhan; and brother, John Dwyer and his wife, Terry. Including her parents, Suzanne was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Abraham Oybkhan and her sister, Honora Silicato.
A service will be at 11 AM Friday, October 7, 2016 at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10 AM. On Thursday November 15, 2012, Leo E. Ozoroski peacefully passed away surrounded by family at Forwood Manor in Wilmington.
Leo was born in Phoenixville, PA in 1928 and grew up there with his siblings, Anthony, Stanley, Vincent, Michael, Ann and Julia, who preceded him in death.
Leo served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was stationed in Hawaii. After serving in the Navy, Leo went to West Chester State Teachers College where he received his teaching degree and later went back and received his Masters Degree.
He then moved to Wilmington, DE where he taught school at Wilmington Manor and River Road Elementary Schools. He also worked part-time at Fairfax Liquors for over 40 years.
Leo loved playing golf with his friends at Rock Manor Golf Course.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary Rose (nee Spaziani) of Wilmington; son Joseph and his wife Debra of Rehoboth Beach; daughter Michele of Wilmington; grandson Christopher and his wife Sara of Rhode Island; and his brother-in-law Louis J. Kaa of Huntington Beach, CA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly and many good friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Tuesday November 20, at St. Helena's Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington where friends and family may visit from 10 to 11 am. Interment will follow Mass at All Saints Cemetery.

Stephen G. Uhrick, age 56, died unexpectedly in Martinez, CA, while on an assignment for Mistras Group. Born to Theresa and Edward Uhrick, Stephen attended Conrad High School, graduating in 1976. Immediately following graduation, Stephen began his career in the oil refining industry. He was currently employed at Mistras Group where he worked as a refinery inspector. While working in the refining industry he achieved many certifications and awards. Stephen was known as a people person, always available to lend a helping hand, and his favorite place to be was at the beach. Steve was a family man and he loved to entertain family and friends. He enjoyed watching sports and his favorite teams were the Eagles and the Phillies. During the games, it was a tradition for Steve to be on the phone with Uncle Jimmy routing for their favorite teams. Steve will always be remembered.
Stephen was predeceased by his son, Stephen; mother, Theresa; siblings, Carol and Ralph. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Loretta; daughters, Carissa, Ashley (Sheldon Singh), and Lauren Uhrick; 5 grandchildren, Savannah, Shania, and Jayden Uhrick, Makayla Rodgers, and Khylee Singh; father, Edward; siblings, Linda Billela (Michael), Marie Nichols, Edward (Ramona), Johnny, and Melissa Patton (Miles); sister-in-law, Barbara Uhrick; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Age 79, of Newark, DE, passed away suddenly on July 17th, 2017.
Born in Trenton, NJ, John was the son of the late Helen (Messerschmitt) and Leo M. Ullrich. His brothers, Bill, Bob and sisters Helene and Joann preceded him in death. John graduated from Trenton Catholic High School in 1956 and received an Electrical Engineering Degree from the University of Dayton in1960. He continued meeting often with his Trenton Catholic "buddies" and their spouses. John's career included employment with U. S. Steel, and B.F. Goodrich. After seventeen years, he retired from Advent Electric, appreciating the family atmosphere of the company and many friendships that extended to the present.
John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth "Betsy" Ullrich, his sons John F. Ullrich of Newark, DE, James Ullrich of Isle of Palms, SC, daughters Marybeth Trulli (Steve) of Sea Isle City, NJ and Judy Sebastiani (Joe) of Newark, DE. He has ten grandchildren: Ryan, Michael, Karen Ullrich, Elisha, Elijah, Elizabeth, Sam Trulli, Olivia, John, James, and Samantha Sebastiani. He was a faithful husband, devoted father and cherished grandfather (Poppie). His family relied on his expertise in problem solving and most of all his presence at all their events. He had a reputation for his love of animals, and a dog was his constant companion.

Joseph M. Uniatowski, age 91, of Newark, DE passed away peacefully on April 7, 2015 at home. He was one of seven children. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII as an amphibious engineer in the 160th engineer combat battalion. He served in the campaign in Northern France (Battle of the Bulge) and Normandy where he arrived a day after D day along with several other campaigns. He retired from the University of Delaware Plant Operations Plumbing Department in 1986 after 24 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Rose; his sons, Joe, Rick, Ken (Linda) and Mark (Barbara); grandchildren, Julie (Roberto), Becky (Israel); great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Caden, Cruz and Gabe; his sister, Agnes and his brother, Ed.
Visitation for Joseph will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 from 9:30-10 am at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. Graveside services will immediately follow the visitation in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.

Mary C. Uniatowski, age 92, of Carlisle, PA and formerly of Newark, DE passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Thornwald Home, Carlisle, PA with her loving family by her side. She was born December 14, 1923 in Nottingham, PA to the late Joseph B. and Jennie B. (Tomasson) Crookshanks and was the widow of the late Frank B. Uniatowski. Mary was a 1942 graduate of Newark High School in Newark, DE. As a young woman starting out in life, Mary had worked for the former Wilmington Trust Company (now M &T) in Newark, DE for 10 years. S he also had jobs working for the Avon Company and several care facilities in Newark, DE.
She is survived by a son, C. Fred Uniatowski of Landisburg, PA; two daughters, Linda S. (and husband Philip) Hanson of St. Louis, MO and Mary June Bjork of Lubbock, TX; two grandchildren, Frank B. Uniatowski and Rachel Uniatowski; and a great-grandson, Peyton E. Uniatowski. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Pauline Coates, Edith Wojtowicz, Edna Dick, Daisy Crookshanks and Elizabeth Downey and a brother, Edwin Crookshanks.
Private graveside services will be held at All Saints Cemetery in Wilmington, DE.

Catherine passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014. She had worked at Sears for 15 years until retiring in 1984. Catherine was an original member of Corpus Christi Church, then was a member of St. Matthews Church for over 40 years and most recently was a member of Holy Family Church. She enjoyed bowling at Pleasant Hills, gardening and was an exceptional cook.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Louis, in 2003. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Alberta) and Bernard (Deborah); 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30am on Friday, November 14 at Holy Family Church, 15 Gender Road, Newark, where visitation will begin at 10:30am. Joseph J. Urban, 87 of Wilmington, Delaware peacefully passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2012.
Mr. Urban is survived by his daughters, Patricia Graham and Joan Gregorcyk and her husband, Nicholas; his grandchildren, Joseph Gregorcyk, Michael Graham, Edward Graham, Andrew Gregorcyk, Thomas Graham and Michele Gregorcyk; and his brother, Henry Urban.
He was predeceased by his wife, Julie (Makoski) Urban; his son-in-law, Gerard Graham; and his brother, Robert Urban.

Justin John Ursillo, infant son of Jeffrey and Jeannine Ursillo of Wilmington, DE passed away on Thursday January 10, 2007 in the A.I Dupont Hospital for Children.
Justin John was a blessing to everyone who knew him and loved him. During his short time on earth, he captured the hearts of many. He brought true joy to his loved ones through his beautiful toothless smiles, adorable baby coos, and his bright blue eyes.
Memories of Justin John will be carried on in the hearts of, his parents, his brother, Jeffrey, his sister Megan, his grandparents, Lynn and Patrick Rocco, Jeannette C. Baskin, Gerald Baskins, his Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors and nurses of A.I DuPont Hospital for all the care that they gave to Justin John.

Don Oconice Winslow died on Friday October 19, 2012. He was born to Lindley Arthur Winslow and Blanch Herthel Winslow in March of 1927 in Franklin, Indiana.
He graduated early from Franklin High School, at age 17, to enlist in the United States Army as the country was fighting the Second World War. He wanted to follow his older brother Norman into the service for our country. He was chosen to go into the Army Specialized Training Program to become an officer. He was sent to West Virginia University through this program, and went on to serve in several locations as Company Clerk. He returned to West Virginia University after discharge, and received his SS in Chemicial Engineering there in 1950. He was enrolled in the School of Law at Indiana University that year.
In 1952 he married his college sweetheart, Anna Neff, and together they moved to Wood River, Illinois. Don worked as a chemical engineer for Shell Oil Company in Wood River. He enrolled in the School of Law at St. Louis University and graduated from there with the degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence Don was then transferred to Emeryville, California, by Shell, to work as a Patent Attorney, and in the following years was transferred to the New Yrok office and then back to the Emeryville office.
He left Shell Oil Company in the early sixties to work as a patent attorney for International Latex in Dover, Delaware. In 1973 he began work as a patent attorney for the DuPont Company in Wilmington, and he continued there until his retirement.
Don enjoyed classical music all of his life and was a talented usician. He played the piano, clarinet, and saxophone in his early days. He also played in an Army band. While in California he began to play the recorder, and while in Dover, Delaware, he was a founding member of the Dover Baroque ensemble. He was a founder of the Dover Symphony Orchestra and the Dover Early Music Society.
On the 250th anniversary of the founding of Dover, Delaware, in 1967, Don Co-authored, with EMil Sammak, a book which was published detailing the history of the city.
After coming to Wilmington he was a founding member of the Cathedral Chamber Players, which became the Brandywine Baroque.
Don was always active in every community where he lived. In Dover he was president of the P.T.A. at Dover High School.. He was on the board of the YMCA in Dover, served on the board of the Delmarva Girl Scout Council, and the Board of Directors of Wilmington Music School. He served several terms on the Vestry of the Cathedral Church of St John in Wilmington.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Anna, and four children: Dr Dean Winslow of Palo Alto, CA, Richard Winslow and his wife Annette of Wilmington, Christiane Winslow and her parter Kathleen Clark of Wilmington, and Dr. Alexandra McFeely and her husband Col. Eugene McFeely of Sumter, SC; There are six grandchildren: Dr. Lindley A Winslow and her husband Jacob Siegel, Mary Elizabeth Winslow and her daughter Harmony Ann, Samuel Winslow, and the McFeely children, Daniel, Owen and Ryan.
He is survived by his younger sister Martha of Columbus, IN, by brothers James Frederick and Alan of Florida, and by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister who died in infancy, his older brother Norman, and by his brother Robert.
The memorial service will be held at St David's Episcopal Church, 2320 Grubb Road, Wilmington, DE on Wednesday October 24, 2012 at 2:00. Interment will be private in the Cathedral Church of St. John Garden of Praise at Christ Church Christiana Hundred.
